Luis F. Castillo Sr.

Luis F. Castillo Sr. Luis F. Castillo Sr. Luis F. Castillo Sr., 91, of Kingsville, died Nov. 24, 2009, in Kingsville.

He was born June 20, 1918, to Hilario and Margarito Castillo in San Benito.

He was a life long musician, farmer, and a part-time mechanic in Kingsville and Bishop.

Castillo was a long-time resident of Bishop and moved to Kingsville 47 years ago.

He is preceded in death by son-in-law Abraham G. Garza; two sisters, Juanita Cruz and Virginia Garcia.

Survivors include his wife Josefa Castillo of Kingsville; two sons, Luis (Pauline) Castillo Jr. of Kingsville, Adan Hinojosa of Louisiana; two daughters, Alicia (the late Abraham) Garza, Ofilia (Arnold) Canales, all of Kingsville; one sister, Maria Garcia of Edinburg; one brother, Benjamin Hernandez of California; six grandchildren, Luis (Ashley) Castillo III of Rockwall, Patricia A. (Paul) Silvas of Kingsville, Norma Jean (Bill) Davis of Ft. Stockton, Abraham (Tracey) Garza Jr. of Kingsville, Laura Garza-Gongora (Dr. Arturo Garza- Gongora) of Laredo, Cecilio L. (Dena) Ruiz III of Austin; six great-grandchildren, Kayla Marie Pena of Kingsville, Andrea Marie Davis of Ft. Stockton, Cecilio L. Ruiz IV and Bronson Ruiz, both of Austin, Luis Castillo IV of Rockwall, Zachery X. Garza of Kingsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27 at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home in Kingsville.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27 at Ramirez-Salinas Funeral Home.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 28 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with Father Paul Puthenangady and Father Romeo Salinas officiating.

Burial will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery in Kingsville.
